Wow, what a wonderful way with worlds Traci Harding has. And what a pleasure it was to be able to finally get lost back in the worlds of her imagining that make up the Triad of Being trilogy.

The Light-Field closes out the Triad of Being trilogy picking up where The Universe Parallel leaves off. This is a trilogy I picked up in the middle and had a year between books two and three so my memory of The Universe Parallel is a little sketchy to say the least, and that takes absolutely nothing away from my enjoyment of The Light-Field.

We are rapidly reacquainted with all of the major players from the previous book, though not necessarily in the way we were familiar with them previously as this book is set 10 years before The Universe Parallel. One of Dr Taren Lennox’s psychic abilities allows her to travel through time, which she has done along with Zeven Gudrun, to change the events that culminated in the transference to a parallel universe.

On first starting this book I was expecting a pretty hard slog trying to get my head back into this world and keeping all of the information straight but it was a surprisingly easy read. Yes, there were passages that required a little extra focus and concentration but that’s to be expected when you are talking advanced technology and multiple incarnations.

There were many twists and unpredictable revelations regarding the characters and where they all fit in which ensure total engagement because I always wanted to keep reading to see who would pop up next, what memory would be triggered and who fit where last time round.

Action packed start to finish this is a book I found hard to put down, it was always – just one more page, just one more chapter and I devoured it much quicker than even I thought possible. Traci Harding’s knack for creating characters that you can’t help but cheer for encourages late nights.

Time travel, teleportation, precognition, levitation, remote viewing, resurrection, healing – you name it and the psychic ability makes an appearance in this book. One of the most intriguing things I found was the exploration of alternate time lines and what may happen this time because of what was done differently to last time.

For any one event how many different ways are there to pinpoint the beginning? What event marks where it starts? How would you know where you would need to go back to if you wanted to change an event? All very thought provoking questions explored within these pages.

If you could have a psychic ability what would you want it to be?
