Armed with hatchets and knives, Scarlett and Rosie March fight evil Fenris, the werewolves who took their grandmother and Scarlett’s eye when the girls were children. These werewolves aren’t the dignified and sexy types that we’ve all seen before; they’re leering, soulless, repulsive predators, greasy and matted and not at all like Twilight’s Jacob Black! Determined to protect other girls from being attacked, Scarlett lives for the hunt. Rosie, not so much…

When their childhood friend Silas Reynolds returns from San Francisco looking hotter than ever, he enables Rosie to begin to question her role as a hunter, and start imagining a life not filled with hunting. With more and more young girls being murdered by Fenris every day, Scarlett needs Rosie, and Silas, more than ever, but will the sister’s once close bond be destroyed as romance develops between Silas and Rosie?

Sisters Red is a dark fairy tale filled with blood and gore, fierce fighting, sisterly love and romance that will leave readers breathless.

What first drew me in about Sisters Red was the unusual cover. How gorgeous is it?! Dark and interesting, it definitely had me intrigued. And I wasn’t disappointed when I opened it up and started reading. Right from the get-go, I knew that I was going to adore Sisters Red. The prologue was gruesome and totally creepy, and was definitely a powerful way to start the story. It made me feel everything that Scarlett felt: rage when the Fenris took her eye, and terrible sadness when her grandmother was brutally murdered. The empathy that I felt for the main characters stayed with me the entire time I was reading, and definitely made me love the book even more.

One of the things I really loved about Sisters Red was the importance it placed on relationships. In amongst all the killing and fighting, there was Scarlett and Rosie’s relationship. Truly believing that they share the same heart, the connection between the sisters is so close, their bond so strong, that it made me want to hug my sister, and then go out hunting werewolves together. Well, maybe not the last part…  And oh my gosh, the relationship that developed between Rosie and Silas was so amazing! From their very first flirtation I was dying to see what would happen between them, and I was not at all disappointed by their very passionate first kiss!

Although Sisters Red is a retelling of a fairy tale, which is something that I usually don’t like, the more of it I read, the less fairy tale-like it became. It’s an intelligent and imaginative retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. Fast paced and filled with suspense, violence and excitement, it’s so much more than your average novel: it’s an action movie waiting to happen. Combine this with enough doomed romance to bring a tear to your eye, and you have Sisters Red. Exciting, gruesome, and brilliant!

If you’re a fan of novels filled with werewolves and completely kick ass heroines, you will love this book!
