A quarter of the way through the year already, I can’t believe how time flies. Finally the weather has realised it’s not summer anymore and there have been some perfect days for curling up with a book; unfortunately my children don’t always agree.

There is still a lot going on in my house and with a not quite 6 week old we are still trying to work out our routine. I’m still concentrating mainly on the book category and I kind of have to with all the book clubs I have lined up, I’ve committed myself almost to capacity so I have to keep on top of my priorities.

This week I have been blessed with a visit from my interstate sister and littlest nephew so priority has been family time and I have read I think 10 pages in 3 days…. so I knew on Wednesday I wouldn’t be getting another book finished and the one I have started seems like it will be a little more harder going than the easy reads I’ve enjoyed this month. It also means I am up to date with my reviews because I knew that finishing a book early in the week meant I had to review it or I would have no hope after she went home.

One book off my bought wishlist actually happened in March, because I have the final book in a trilogy coming up in May and hadn’t yet read the second so had to rectify that; I had a small window of opportunity that couldn’t be passed up. I don’t think I will get one read in April because though I was on top of March Book club reads, and I only have two April book clubs left to read; I do have eight book clubs on the cards for May so will need to get on top of those.

So my March reading looked like this:

Total Books I read in February: 9
9 Female authors/ 0 Male author
9 Fiction novels
9 print/ 0 digital
Books in a series: 2
5 stars on Goodreads: 5
4 stars on Goodreads: 4
Books that qualify for AWW2017: 8
Books for B&L Book Club: 6

No digital reads again in March and I discovered I don’t have Claire Boston’s latest release on my tablet but I do want to purchase it; maybe in May with the way book clubs are looking at the moment.

All 4 and 5 star reads on Goodreads, I think I’m going to have to try and get tougher on the way I rate, they are almost all that highly rated of late. I’m not going to pick favourites but I do look forward to reading what our book club members thought.

Book Club reads, the bulk of my March reading were for book club and that means I have March all read and all but two of the April titles. I can’t wait to read the reviews because some of these books were a little different, and a different direction for their authors.

April highly anticipated reads would have to be the final instalments of the Flinders Ranges Series by Tricia Stringer, Jewel in the North, and Talk of the Town by Rachael Johns. I have Vigilante by Kady Cross on my desk still for this month and am looking forward to that also.

I think that’s about it for me, and it’s almost feed time, so I’ll leave you for now.

Happy Reading… and we would love to know what you have read and loved this month.
