Jillian Cantor does an amazing job with Beautiful Little Fools which is a retelling of The Great Gatsby.
It doesn’t matter if you have not read The Great Gatsby, as Beautiful Little Fools works well as a stand-alone. But if you have read the original then you’ll be familiar with all of the characters.
You get to see things from the female’s perspective.
Daisy Fay meets Jay Gatsby and he sets her heart on fire. Jay falls madly and obsessively in love with Daisy and makes it his life mission to be a man that is worthy of Daisy’s love.
After a family tragedy, Daisy feels that it is her responsibility to save her mother and their family home and her only way of doing this is to marry into money. Jay does not fit the bill so she marries Tom.
Daisy believes that Tom can and will make her happy, but it’s not long before she finds herself feeling trapped. Jay has never stopped loving Daisy and every single thing he does is for Daisy.
Will love win out?
This story has it all from war, sport, romance, murder, and mystery.
I was really delighted in this retelling and struggled to put the book down. I really wanted to read it all in one sitting as for me it was really engrossing. The perfect holiday read.

This story is a retell of The Great Gatsby from the women’s perspective. I haven’t read The Great Gatsby (after reading this, I will be soon) but that was not a problem. It is a real page turner, the characters are wonderfully drawn, and there are many twists and turns on the way to the solving of the mystery. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed ‘Beautiful Little Fools’, having never read or watched The Great Gatsby I had no idea of the storyline.
Retold from three womens perspective, Daisy, Jordan & Catherine anyone if them could have murdered Jay Gatsby. There were many twists and turns as the story unfolded into a tangled web of lies and manipulation, making it a page turner until the end!
Such a well written book, I haven’t read the original (the great Gatsby) so it was an all new storyline.
Lots of ups and downs with love, hate and friendship all intertwined.
Thankyou Beauty and Lace and Simon and Schuster for the opportunity to read Beautiful Little Fools.
Beautiful Little Fools is a wonderful reimagining of The Great Gatsby told through the women’s POV. It was an addictive read full of drama, mystery and romance with twists and turns that kept you engaged until the very end. Thankyou beauty and lace for letting me read this beautifully written book
Beautiful Little Fools by Jillianne Cantor .
Taken back into the 1900 hundreds what a lifestyle beautifully betrayed in the book.
I have heard about the Great Gatsby before but never read about it.
A truly immersable novel about the life of Jay Gatsby and his whirlwind of women. A great murder mystery.
It was engrossing until the very last page.
Beautiful Little Fools by Jillian Cantor was a great read based on the Great Gatsby (which I haven’t read).
The story follows the lives of the characters Daisy, Jordan, Catherine and Myrtle who have all been affected by Jay Gatsby in some way in their lives. Jay Gatsby is murdered and any one of the women in the story could be responsible. However there are lots of turns and twists, lies and manipulations of the characters which keeps you turning the pages till the end to find the truth!
A wonderful story about 3 different womens perspective of their envolvement with Jay Gatsby.
Love and betrayal, secrets and murder make the reading of this book a must but only when you can lock yourself away lost in the pages of this wonderfully told story. Tranported back to the 1920’s you are filled with the sights and sounds of the time when if you had money (and was a man) then life was good ….. or was it?
The story from each of the women’s perspectives sheds light on a story with a difference and makes you wonder if you really know the story afterall.
A highly enjoyable book which is well worth the read, the glass of red wine and a box of chocolate!
