Today we have SJ Ford, author of The Choice with us to share what’s on her desk, and tell us a bit about her workspace.
We think SJ has created a calm and productive place to write:
What’s on your desk?
My laptop, a salt lamp, notepads, a pot of pens and pencils, a plant, a mug and a radio.
What shouldn’t be on your desk?
The inevitable chocolate wrappers that mysteriously appear most afternoons.

Why does this area motivate you?
It’s cosy yet bright and uplifting with a fresh feeling that allows room for organising my thoughts.
Are there any items of particular significance?
I love mugs and most of my collection have a special meaning or sentiment connected to them, one of them is almost always on my desk. I particularly love my Little Miss Sunshine and sloth mugs.
How often do you spend in this workspace each day?
My life involves a lot of different elements, which balance in varying ways depending on the day.
Some days are completely away from the workspace, others I can spend much of the afternoon and evening there.

I am a mother of four beautiful children. I can’t leave a book unfinished which equals a lot of late nights! When I’m not reading you can find me in the garden, or helping out at Beauty and Lace.
