This week we get to look at the desk of author Nicola Marsh, this is one I have been looking forward to and we have been putting off to allow for hectic deadlines – understandably with Nicola currently being published by 4 companies and having 4 books coming out in the near future.
Let’s head over and look at where she writes, I can’t wait to see this.
What is on your desk?
A big mess! I hate it, but as soon as I tidy it the paper stacks return. Revision notes, Post-its, kid’s school stuff, bills…argh!
(As you can see from the photo below this pic was taken in one of those moments directly after a tidy, and I have it on good authority that all of those things are back but the desk is in no fit state for public viewing. What I do think is an interesting feature to note is all of those book covers up on the wall.)
What shouldn’t be on your desk?
All of the above!
Why does this area motivate you?
Because I know when I sit down to write at night, with the kids in bed and peaceful silence, that this is my time and my space.
Are there any items of particular significance?
I have a wooden block covered in inspirational quotes I bought at Kuala Lumpur airport many years ago. I like turning it around and reading a new quote each day.
How often do you spend in this workspace each day?
Few hours every morning, then 4 hours at night. Yeah, I’m chained to my desk!
I devour books, vampires and supernatural creatures are my genre of choice but over the past couple of years, I have broadened my horizons considerably. In a nutshell – I love to write! I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews. Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS!

Love what looks like and inspiration board on the wall and all those covers!
