The Lost Sape by Debbie Hofstetter is a fantasy story.
Nicole’s parents said she had a vivid imagination. She knew that the small creature who said his name was Hamish, a Thisbe from a world called Orra and had told her that she was special “Magic”, was real.
She looked and waited for him to return for 11 years, but maybe her parents had been right — perhaps she had imagined him.
Raisa’s powers were becoming useless, how awful it was to be a Magic but living in the Frail Realm. She and her brother Dex long to return to Orra, but Raisa had been irresponsible. She lost her Illuminance, and now they have to live in the Frail Realm (Human World).
While walking past a school Dex and Raisa recognise Raisa’s power circulating around a girl, a human girl. The girl has a curse in the form of a Tangle that would be fighting her Magic.
Raisa and Dex see Nicole’s aura glow at their presence, she is not afraid of them. They need to find out who she is and how she has come to have Raisa’s Illuminance.
Nicole wonders just what is wrong with her and why she is different. She and her cousin Lena have never got along. To remain in a dance class that they both enjoy, the teacher insists that they work on their relationship.
Nicole’s mother has a constant strain on her face, her father is easily angered. Rook, a Dellamana from Orra has come to help Nicole to grow her Magic, but should she trust him.
Could this be an answer to all her aches and pains and her family problems and her strange abilities?
Nicole takes a chance and begins her journey, moving between worlds, to understand how it is that she has Magic.
This is an interesting and very imaginative fantasy story. I did enjoy it, but at times found it hard to follow with so many magical characters.
A great read for lovers of fantasy adventures.

I love to read, any book on any topic. I now love ebooks as they are easier to store, I was running out of bookshelves! My other interests are family, gardening and our beautiful King Charles spaniel dog who is my reading companion.
The Lost Sape by Debbie Hofstetter ( Shawline Publishing Group) is a delightful and whimsical, fantasy e-book.
Nearly a teenager, and dealing with unusual growing pains, 12 year old Nicole has always been different. So it is no real surprise when she learns that she has magical abilities. But what is a surprise is that it is the magic (and its origin) that is the source of all that is both good and bad in her family’s life.
This is an easy to read and fun adventure fantasy which calls on Nicole to face her insecurities and teen angst in order to confront magical evil creatures and rid her family of the curses, tangles and terrors that have increasingly undermined them.
This is a lovely escape into an alternative magical world with fairy and goblin like creatures living alongside real life – a charming story and a fun read.
An adventure fantasy story,The Lost Sape ,excites the imagination with an entry into other realms where magical creatures do exist. A book for all ages, I found this to be a delightful easy to read story ,even though I belong to the elder age group. I shall pass it forward to my elderly neighbours who love a magical tale.
