There’s a new giant in the steampunk world and his name is Jay Kristoff, his debut trilogy THE LOTUS WAR was fought for at auction and the first installment is set for simultaneous release this September in the UK, USA and Australia.
Jay’s blog says “Jay Kristoff has managed to trick the world into thinking he’s an author. His debut novel, Stormdancer, billed as a dystopian Japanese-inspired Steampunk fantasy will capture readers of all ages with its dark, mesmerising and absolutely
Japanese inspired Steampunk has certainly caught my attention and if that hadn’t then the gorgeous cover of this intriguing sounding trilogy would certainly capture my imagination.
I headed over to the blog to do a little research and get a bit of background. All I can say is if this guy writes novels the way he writes his blog it is going to be well worth the read. Head over and check it out for yourself, you can find him at: www.misterkristoff.wordpress.com
I’m here now to give you the Australian cover of this exciting new series due for release September 2012. Write it in your diary people because this Steampunk series sounds like it will shape up to be sensational.
But before we get to the cover how about I give you the synopsis, for those of you who are just being introduced to Kristoff’s Stormdancer here.
A DYING LAND
The Shima Imperium is verging on the brink of environmental collapse; decimated by clockwork industrialization and the machine-worshippers of the Lotus Guild. The skies are red as blood, land choked with toxic pollution, wildlife ravaged by mass extinctions.
AN IMPOSSIBLE QUEST
The hunters of the imperial court are charged by their Shōgun to capture a thunder tiger – legendary beast, half-eagle, half-tiger. But any fool knows thunder tigers have been extinct for more than a century, and the price of failing the Shōgun is death.
A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL
Yukiko is a child of the Fox clan, possessed of a hidden gift that would see her executed by the Lotus Guild. Accompanying her father on the Shōgun’s hunt, she finds herself stranded: a young woman alone in Shima’s last wilderness, with only a furious, crippled thunder tiger for
company. Even though she can hear his thoughts, even though she saved his life, all she knows for certain is he’d rather see her dead than help her. But together, the pair will form an indomitable friendship, and rise to challenge the might of an empire.
Now, the moment we have all been waiting for – the Australian cover of Jay Kristoff’s STORMDANCER
I devour books, vampires and supernatural creatures are my genre of choice but over the past couple of years, I have broadened my horizons considerably. In a nutshell – I love to write! I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews. Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS!
