The Tiger Catcher is the first novel in the brand new End Of Forever saga by bestselling Paullina Simons.

A little bit of reading about this one has me discovering that unlike most sagas that have you waiting and waiting for the next instalment the End Of Forever saga sees ALL THREE books published in 2019.

Julian lives a charmed life in Los Angeles until a love affair with Josephine turns his world upside down. Josephine is a mysterious young woman carrying secrets that will tear them apart.

Here begins the adventure that spans lifetimes, a timeless love story that will take readers from the loftiest heights of joy to the deepest darkest despair and back.

This one is marketed for fans of Outlander, The Time Traveler’s Wife and Jojo Moyes.

I look forward to hearing what our members thought.

Available now from Harper Collins and where all good books are sold.

  1. I’m a huge fan of Paulina Simons’ work, so I jumped on the opportunity to review this book. Unfortunately I was left a little underwhelmed. The story is based around a character named Julian who has an obsessive love toward Josephine. We follow his life and all the changes that come as he pursues his love interest.
It was a little hard to engage in this book and it took a little while for the story to pick up. In saying that, it got more interesting toward the end and the storyline picked up. I would be interested to read the next series to see what happens.

Thank you to Harper Collins and Beauty and Lace for the opportunity to review this book.

  2. I read The Bronze Horseman years ago and was quite excited to get to review Paulina Simons’ new book. Like everyone else, I did find the beginning a bit hard to get into. I didn’t realise it was going to be a trilogy which is probably what made the ending feel a bit abrupt. However, in saying that, it could be the reason to read the next 2 books.

I was kind of hoping the love story between Julian and Josephine would have that heartbreaking emotional pull like The Time Traveler’s Wife but like what a lot of the other reviewers have said, the two J’s love story doesn’t seem to really gel.

  3. I was so excited to read The Tiger Catcher as I am a huge Paulina Simons fan and have loved every book of hers I’ve read.
Unfortunately after many stops and starts I just couldn’t continue reading the book. I couldn’t connect with it at all.
I didn’t find the characters likeable and it really seemed to drag on. I will give it another go in the future because I know it’s just the start of a trilogy.
A huge thank you to Harper Collins and Beauty and Lace for the chance to review the book, I’m just so sorry I couldn’t finish it.

  4. First of all thanks to Beauty and Lace and Harper Collins for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Paullina Simons has been one of my favourite authors since I was a teenager and I own every single one of her books, so when I spotted this on the list I was so excited to be able to select and receive this book.

When it arrived I could’ve screamed in excitement and quickly opened the book to devour it. Unfortunately it took me almost half the book to even get interested in reading it, unlike Paullinas other books, it just didn’t grab me the way they did, and I don’t know why.

From about half way though my interest did pike up, and I got to like Julian a little bit. I must admit that I didn’t find Josephine very likeable, and thought of Julian as a bit lovesick and uncharacteristic before that. But after his addiction came to light and the story started changing I did come to like it a lot more.

I loved the story of Devi, however I did find it hard to understand what was going on, as in how the time travel supposedly worked and what Devi was talking about that the couldn’t travel again himself.

Overall I didn’t love the book, however now I have read the first one I will be reading the second to see if that changes my opinion. Having read other reviews I see that I’m not the only one with these feelings, so makes me feel a bit better that I was not alone in this.

Look forward to reading the next one!

  5. Thank you for the opportunity of reading Tiger Catcher by Paullina Simons. I think the readers of this book would be clearly separated into two camps – you would either love it or not enjoy it all. Sadly I was in the category of not enjoying it. It was hard going to finish it. Time travel is hard to pull off in a story and I don’t think the author achieved it.

  6. I have read Paullina Simons before and enjoyed the writing & story. I also enjoyed many time travellers so I was quite excited to start reading. Unfortunately, The Tiger Catcher was just not for me. I I tried a few times unsuccessfully, I think the love story and the slow momentum at the start of the book did not work for me.
Thank you to Harper Collins and Beauty and Lace for the opportunity to review this book.
