  1. Thanks to Beauty and Lace and Harper Collins for the opportunity to review ‘The New Girl’ by Ingrid Alexandra.
The beginning of the book had me intrigued and I struggled to put it down. Sadly as the book went on I found it lost its way and it got quite confusing.
    This one wasn’t for me.

  2. Thank you to beauty and lace & harper collins for allowing us the opportunity to read The New Girl. It was an interesting novel, opening with Mary establishing a new life in Sydney with her best friend Cat and room mate. After looking for a new room mate, Rachel moves into the apartment, she is escaping domestic violence and a troubled past.

The beginning of the book was somewhat predictable, however it had a dramatic ending which helped explain aspects of the novel which seemed a little confusing and sightly lost. I have mixed feelings about this book, but it is definitely worth a read.

  3. This is a fast paced, exciting and thrilling book. This crazy life of Mary’s had me drawn into. I loved Mary’s character and her determination to flee her old life and startball over. This book had me guessing many times what Rachael’s connection was. A very well written book. Fingers crossed it has a sequel.

  4. The New Girl by Ingrid Alexandra was a terrific read that I found hard to put down. Mary and Cat are best friends who have moved to Sydney together along with another flatmate Ben. Needing a fourth person to help pay the rent, they advertise and so Rachel ‘The New Girl’ moves in. Rachel and Mary hit it off right from the start much to Cat’s dismay and the story follows the blossoming friendship between Rachel and Mary plus also delves into Mary’s past and gradually unveils how she came to be there. The story is gripping and full of suspense so a definite page turner. The ending was good and wrapped everything up however, I just felt it was rushed and ended too quickly so was left a tiny bit disappointed. I do recommend this book though and loved the twist.
Thanks Beauty and Lace and to HarperCollins for the opportunity to read this great book. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for future books by Ingrid!

  6. The new girl by Ingrid Alexander is a highly engaging book from the beginning, I couldn’t put it down and read it with ease.
A very interesting storyline that is not often talked about.
I have mixed feelings about the ending, I don’t want to be a spoiler so I’ll leave it at that. I do hope the twist of an ending means there might possibly be a sequel, that I would buy the day it is released.

  7. Wow. I loved it and couldn’t put it down.
It was an easy read and had me hooked right from the beginning.

Loved the twists and turns, and I thought I had it worked out ….. well wasn’t I wrong

And yes, as I have just read a previous comment a sequel …..what an awesome idea

Thanks again Beauty and Lace and Harper Collins

  8. Edge of the seat stuff. A troubled Mary tries to find a new start after a not so nice past. She moves in with Cat, an old friend. soon a third housemate moves in…Rachel
Mary finds that they have alot in common and they get along really well. Whilst Cat is suspicious of Rachel, Mary grows quite close to her.
When Mary starts to realise that Rachel knows alot about her, things that she has never even told Cat, she starts to question who Rachel really is and why she is in her life.
    A great thriller…highly recommended.
