The Man Who Corrupted Heaven by Andrew Hood comes with a trigger warning as it contains child abuse and violence.
Issac spent his childhood growing up in an orphanage where his time was spent trying to keep away from a certain priest, and battling the bullies.
He befriends John and together they fight to stay sane. Issac has dreams of his adult life where he wants to be successful. He dreams of having all the money, fancy cars, nice clothes, and more.
In his adult years, his dreams have come true. He has taken John along with him, but then Issac is diagnosed with incurable cancer and given the bad news of his impending demise. He hatches a plan to ensure that he will take his money and the power along with him when he dies and goes to Heaven.
With help from John and his trusted assistant Susan, he puts his plan into action. When Issac passes he sees crucial moments in his life, but he also gets to see things he missed at the time, and he gets to view these events from a different perspective.
He learns things he was not aware of and he sees that while on earth he never truly felt loved even though there was love there for him. After his passing, he is able to spend time with people he cared about and those that cared about him and what he learns on these visits changes his view on many things.
This book seriously wowed me. The number of times while reading this book that I gasped, commented out loud, and had to put the book down for a second while I recovered from yet another shock are uncountable. I read so many sections of this book out to a friend of mine that I’m sure he feels like he got to read it also.
There were so many wow moments and twists and turns. I 100% love this book and can not wait for book number two – which I would want to get and read straight away. This book was so darn good.
Andrew Hood this book is beyond amazing. It put me on the most awesome roller coaster ride and even now days after I’ve finished reading I am still carrying Issac, John, and Susan with me and telling friends to read this book. I don’t know that they will ever really leave me.
