Sherrie Hay and Priyu Tuli have recently released a book called ‘Create Magical Moments’ which helps women enrich their lives and pay it forward. Sherrie was kind enough to come and talk to us about the book.

Thanks for talking to us Sherrie, and welcome to Beauty and Lace.
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your career background?

Good Morning Michelle. I’m a retired school administrator/teacher. I worked most of my teaching career as a special educator/counselor working with difficult teens and their families. When I retired, my intention now is to work focused on positive things that are in alignment with my spirituality.

You have recently released ‘Create Magical Moments’, can you tell us a little about the book?

I believe we all desire more happiness and joy in our lives. I attempt to inspire people through my astrology blog using positive affirmations to “Create Magical Moments” every day. It truly is possible for each of us to ramp up our “Joy thermometer” and create moments of joy in our lives. Those precious moments give us hope for today. Those joy moments help carry us through whatever stressful situations we are facing.

How did you come to be working with Priya Tuli on the book?

Priya has followed my astrology blog for years at She asked that I do an in depth astrology reading for her in exchange for her sending me a box filled with delights from the other side of the world. I agreed and over the course of a couple of years we sent “happiness boxes” to one another.

What inspired you to write ‘Create Magical Moments’?

From those magic box exchanges, I wrote a blog that several people responded to wanting to know more. From there, the book evolved into what it is today. It also evolved to including more information and magical positive posters on Here I combine my passion for photography with affirmations and quotes that are inspiring.

How do you hope the book will enrich the lives of your readers?

I am hopeful that people realize they can be deliberate co-creators for bringing more happiness and joy into their own lives. They also can prolong their moments of happiness through the process I describe in Create Magical Moments. Several people have told me that this has helped give them something to look forward to, something to laugh about, something to create a feeling of sharing and a feeling of being part of a web of caring.

Can you tell us a little about the magic boxes?

The boxes are truly magical for prolonging those delicious feelings of joy. I have learned that when I am consciously engaged in looking for just the perfect little treasure to go to someone, it gives me great pleasure as well as the person receiving it. I have learned that dropping little hints to the person receiving the magic box helps both people anticipate and feel a sense of hopefulness.

Are you planning any more books?

Yes, I am in the process of writing two books on astrology. One is on terrific parenting and astrology since those are my two main passions. I believe all parents want to be great parents and this helps them to understand their children better. The second is a book written more for astrologers based on decades of research I’ve been doing.

What do you hope to achieve in 2013?

I’m always setting new goals for myself. Both my husband and I are type A people. Besides completing at least one more book, I plan on getting my husband to take more time off so that we can en-JOY our semi-retirement through traveling. I am an avid green person and try to continually bring the message of making a light footprint on Mother Earth.

What does being a woman mean to you?

I continually give the message to women to be the best person you possibly can be. We all are born with gifts, and talents. We truly need to explore those and enrich ourselves through empowering our passions. When we bring our mind, body, spirit into alignment through Creating Magical Moments for ourselves we are happier people. We create our own inner feminine beauty. Now that is truly Beauty and Lace!
